聯合國農糧組織(FAO)以及全世界先進國家，均關心糧食安全、食品安全與生態保育，認為這是21世紀人類面臨的重大挑戰。台灣人民在享受高經濟成長的同時，更應該關切食品安全與生態保育。

 

台灣有機產業促進協會於2008年1月27日正式成立。這是國內有機產業界團結合作的開始，象徵台灣有機產業界為關懷社會的公平正義而堅持，為維護人民的健康福祉、為保護生態與土地永續而努力。

 

目前協會會員包括有機生產者、消費者、加工業者、資材供應、行銷、驗證、進出口、環保團體、學術界、政府官員以及學生。也有來自泰國、越南、和印度的大學講師參加，會員已達300個會員以上。

 

現代人類的生產方式，對環境生態造成重大衝擊。如果沒有有機農業界的堅持，我們的環境將繼續受到污染，我們的生態將繼續受到破壞，我們的地球將繼續受到無情的摧殘。

 

本會除積極喚起人民的覺醒，我們很高興一群充滿熱情、智慧和慈悲的好朋友，組成台灣有機產業促進協會，為台灣的健康生態和社會的公平正義，努力以赴。協會最終目標，在建設台灣成為一個有機國家。

 

協會最終目標在建設台灣成為一個有機國家；所以首要工作是推動我國有機農業促進法之立法。

 

未來工作重點包括：

  (1)有效建立生產者與消費者溝通管道。

  (2)促成有機產業國際化及國內有機產業之健全發展。

  (3)促進國內有機產業之產銷、驗證、推廣、道德貿易、及有機生活理念。

(4)舉辦有機產業研究、示範及教育活動。

(5)鼓勵各團體組織採用有機之生產體系，交換市場資訊。

(6)加強與各有關專業及學術機構合作及資訊交換。

 

台灣有全球最優秀的農民和農業技術，欠缺的是各產業界的合作和資源整合。協會的責任，除了喚起消費者的覺醒和關心，提昇生產者的良知和技術，更重要的是各有機產業界的溝通和合作。

 

希望本會全體會員能結合台灣各界關心生態環保與食品安全的人士，共同捍衛我們的土地，保護我們立國的根基－農業，特別是攸關「健康、生態、公平、關懷」的有機農業。

 

本會主要任務：

   (1)促進有機產業之健全發展。

   (2)促進有機產業之產銷、驗證、推廣、道德貿易及有機生活理念。

   (3)舉辦有機產業研究、示範及教育活動。

   (4)鼓勵各團體組織採用有機之生產體系，並交換市場資訊。

   (5)加強與國內外各有關專業及學術機構之合作及資訊交換。

   (6)蒐集有機產業相關資料並發行學術與推廣刊物。

(7)辦理有機產業研究發展與推廣有關之獎勵事項。

   (8)其他有關促進國內外有機產業發展事項。

FAO, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and other advance nations of the world paid equally attention to the safety of the food provisions and the conservation of the ecosystem. Both are treated as the most vital challenges faced by the human being at the 21st century. Just when the Taiwanese people are enjoying the benefits coming from a productive economy growth, we should be more concerned about the issue of food safety and ecosystem conservation.

 

ATOAP, Association of Taiwan Organic Agriculture Promotion was official established on the 27th of January, 2008. This is the beginning of a cooperative relationship between groups of organic industry within the nation. This cooperation symbolized how the Taiwanese organic industry is persistent on the fairness and justice for the care of the society, how it  defends the health welfare of the people and how it strives hard for the protection of the ecosystem and the sustainability of the land.

 

Currently, members of the association include organic producers, consumers, processors, material suppliers, marketing and verification people, importers and exporters, conservationist groups, academic communities, government officials and students. College lectures from Thailand, Vietnam and India have also joined up as members. The total number of members adds up to 300. The president of the association is Lecturer Shih-Shiung Chen.

 

The production method of men nowadays has cast a huge effect on the environmental ecosystem as a whole. If there were no persistence coming from the organic agricultural industry, our Earth will be doomed to go through a series of relentless devastation.

 

ATOAP is formed with a group of enthusiastic, intelligent and merciful friends and this association actively calls for the awakening of the people. We strive hard for the healthy ecosystem of Taiwan and work for the fairness and justice of the society. The ultimate goal of this association is to establish Taiwan as an organic nation.

 

The ultimate goal of the association is to establish Taiwan as an organic country; therefore, the primary work is to encourage the legislation of the law of promotion of organic industry.

 

The emphasis of any future works will include :

1) The effective establishment of communication channels between producers and consumers.

2) The promotion of internationalization of organic industry and the healthy development of domestic organic industry.

3) The promotion of the production and marketing, verification, advertising, ethical trading and the idea of organic life of domestic organic industry.

4) The association will hold relative research, demonstration and educational activity of organic industry.

5) Encouragement will be made to groups and organizations to adopt the organic production system and exchange market information.

6) The cooperation and information exchange between the association with specialized and academic institutions will be strengthened also.

 

Taiwan is in possession of the most exceptional agriculturist and agricultural technology of the world but lack in the cooperation of every production industry and integration of information.

 

It is hoped that all the members of our association can make teams with anyone who cares for the conservation of ecosystem and food safety from every industry in Taiwan to fight and safeguard our piece of land. Also, we should stand together to protect the foundation of the establishment of our nation, the agriculture, especially when it comes to the organic industry of "health, ecology, fairness and care".

  

The principle missions of the association:

 

Anybody who cares for the development of either domestic or international organic industry is welcomed to join the association. You may do so by log into the association’s website address “atoap.organic.org.tw” download and fill out the application form. In order for your official membership be granted, there has to be reference from more than two members of the association and the verification of the committee.
